Your Hometown Theater

Welcome to the Town Hall Theater in Lowville, NY, where we bring the latest movies to the heart of our community. Gather your friends and family, we will take care of the rest.

The Town Hall Theater has been a cornerstone of Lowville’s history, evolving from an Opera House to a USO Club and a Silent Movie House. In 1949, after his Bijou Theater was lost to fire, motion picture pioneer Earnest J. Wolfe reimagined this space. He brought in architect Michael J. De Angelis and artist Oscar Gias to transform the theater into what was hailed as the most beautiful in Northern New York.

Over the decades, the theater passed through the hands of dedicated owners, including the Giannocous, the O’Briens, and now the Beller family, who continue its legacy as a cherished hub of art and community.
